Since 2012, I have had the opportunity to bear witness to numerous stories and insights, challenges and triumphs across K-12 and higher education. In nearly a decade of researching, interviewing and writing about K-12 and higher education, I can say one thing for certain: No one school or district is an island, and nothing is new under the sun. However, as we reimagine what American education looks like amid a global pandemic and in a post-COVID world, now is the time to examine the impact of all of your decisions on the most vulnerable populations.

Words like "equity," "diversity," and "inclusion" have become popular buzzwords in K-12 and higher education circles, but few actually unpack the nuances behind the ideas of equity and inclusion, or challenge the way every decision school leaders make impacts the way students experience school.

At this critical moment of reckoning across the nation, there is a great amount of discussion around the fact that systems are inequitable, but not much discussion of the way forward.

Let's talk. How can we work together to make sure equity is a true organizational priority for the benefit of all students? What adjustments should be made to your leadership style to create an environment that positions your entire school community for success?  How can I help facilitate the kind of introspection needed for leaders at all levels to better serve students?
